Zoe Taylor, a young rower who used her StepUp grant from WVYP to purchase a video camera to help with her training, has been busy on the water.  Have a read of her update:

‘Everything has been very exciting at the moment. At the end of the Easter break I raced in a pair at Ghent international regatta and won. It was a very new experience as this set up was not the same as British events. You only had one race in your event and then the fastest crew from all the races in your event would win. This did make it very difficult as we won our race by an easy margin but we knew there were strong crews in the other races. We were over joyed when we found out that we won as this is the first international regatta either of us has competed at.

I have also attended a number of GB trials recently; I was selected for the Munich international regatta which was held over the weekend of 10th May representing Great Britain in a junior women’s 4-.  Unfortunately we only placed 8th but the competition was tough and few things didn’t go well for us.  The second trial was for the GB team at the Coupe De La Jeunesse.  I’m really excited to tell you that I’ve been selected and I’ll be racing in a pair and an eight.’
