Babysitting Course

Learn how to be a safe babysitter on the British Red Cross babysitting course. The course covers all the things you need to know to keep the kids in your care and yourself safe.  For young people aged 14-18, the course covers:

  • Expectations, your rights and the law
  • Accident prevention and fire safety
  • Looking after babies and children
  • First Aid
  • Dealing with challenging behaviour
  • Marketing your skills

After successfully attending the complete course each participant will attain a BritishRedCross accredited certificate in Babysitting.

The course is open to anyone aged 14-18.  The format varies and has been run across thee Saturdays or six weekday evenings and a Saturday.

If you’re doing your Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award then we have an extension to the course which you can use for the Skills section of your award.
